What if we could for a moment forget our fear of lack? Forget about a world in which meeting our needs happens at the expense of someone or something else. Thereby disconnecting ourselves from nature, each other and ourselves.
What if we could trust again? And believe in a world of abundance, where there is enough of everything for all of us. Thereby reconnecting us with nature, each other and ourselves.
Would we not feel much better? Feel less responsible for the dispair of others, less stress about our future and less lonely.
Few people actually dispute that there is enough to go around for all. And we have everything we need to resolve the distribution problem that creates a combination of lack one side and surplus on the other.
And still history seems to repeat itself over and over again. Afraid of the short term impact on our lives of moving towards this more connected world we stick to our old narrative.
What if we would put our creativity and energy towards bridging this ‘valley of dispair’ by helping each other to take the next small step? As long as is needed to reach the other side. By being compassionate towards each other and trusting the process.
The only thing needed would be to prioritise what helps this process and hold back on what disturbs it. Instinctively we all know which is which. Each taking our our own small ‘communities’ as a starting point. One step at the time…
