Realizing more and more that if I want to change the world the only thing that really works is to change myself at a very basic, behavioral level. Meaning letting all the small day to day decisions and actions being inspired by the most wholesome version I can think of at that point in time.
The good news is that with this realization it is no longer necessary to spend lots of time and effort in trying to understand the complexity of the world as it is, or in figuring out strategies that will solve pressing world issues or in attempts to influence others into doing the ‘right’ thing.

Pieds de Mouton
As we focus our energy on something that we can actually influence (our own behavior) and experience (the effect of that behavior), we also experience having a meaningful contribution (however small). This process not only translates into a sense of well being but also leaves us with lots of ‘spare’ time ;o)
The challenge is of course that changing our own behavior (without help from a crisis) remains one of the most difficult things to do due to all kind of, mostly short term, benefits of such unwholesome behavior. But when I succeed… I move from a world of scarcity to a world of abundance.
I also experience a diminishing desire to ‘change the world’ but that is a different story for some other time.
