Throughout the day I receive small pointers. Small but clear invitations to pause and reconnect to a more wholesome basis and start again from there.

Ao when I become aware of …
- expressing a small exaggeration
- keeping my shoulders up
- holding my breath
- expressing a small lie
- seeking distraction
- falling into a repetitive thought
- a small judgement
- seeking anesthesia (coffee, alcohol, YouTube, ..)
- the urge to buy something
- small incidents (spoiling coffee, whilst driving, ..)
- not hearing the birds sing
- the urge of eating something
- complaining about something
- short breathing (high up)
- etc..
When aware of those little ‘escapes’ and able to pause for a moment before moving into them often result in a small confrontation with something that is hindering my being present. In that moment I have a choice between avoidance and acceptance. Although not always pleasant I never regret the latter (not that I always do).
